Benjamin Cornelius of Livingston, TX. Benjamin was a recipient of the 2023 Lynne F. Solon Foundation Scholarship Award. He has had Type One Diabetes since age 5. Benjamin worked extremely hard to earn a 3.6 GPA in highschool and considers that one of
his greatest accomplishments. He plans on receiving a Business Marketing degree and will use that to seek new and innovative ways to produce and distribute healthy food and insulin to those who can’t afford it!
Ebony Pickens, a recipient of the Lynne F. Solon Foundation Scholarship Award. Ebony is studying illustration with a double minor in marketing and e-sports. She hopes to work at an entertainment company like Sony or Nintendo to create video game art like
character designs, or even work on movies! She has an artistic mind and has been drawing since she was a young child. She uses the environment around her as inspiration for projects. We can’t wait to see her future designs!
Lana Krohe of Streator, IL. Lana was a recipient of the 2021, 2022, and 2023 Lynne F. Solon Foundation Scholarship Award. She has had type one diabetes since 2009. Lana is attending Olivet Nazarene University. She is in the Entrepreneurship Club and was
chosen as a finalist for the Createur Pitch Contest. Lana is striving to one day start her own business! She also runs track and was a competitor in the National Indoor Championship meet. She also competed in the National Outdoor
Championship meet. We are excited to watch her continue her success in all areas of her life!
Luke Russell, a recipient of a 2023 Lynne F. Solon Foundation Scholarship Award. Luke is a student at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and is pursuing a major in Theatre with a concentration in Acting. After he graduates, Luke wants to travel
the world as an actor learning about different cultures and connecting with people on an emotional level!
Zoe Crawford of Streator, IL. Zoe was a recipient of the 2022 and 2023 Lynne F. Solon Foundation Scholarship Award. She is on her way to becoming a dental hygienist! She is taking the prerequisites for dental hygiene in 2023/2024 and hopes to be accepted
into the hygiene program in 2024. We are excited to see her achieve her goals and use her skills to help others!
